You’re not alone at Christmas!
This festive period can be a fun time filled with joy, laughter and presents. However, for lots of young people, Christmas is a time for family feuds, isolation and worry.
If you’ve got something on your mind that you’d like to share over Christmas, there are still ways that you can access support! Here’s a list of some services that can offer you support during the holidays.
Meic is the national helpline for young people in Wales. You can call, text, or instant message them between 8am and midnight, 7 days a week – even on Christmas Day. If you’re stressed or worried about where to turn to on the days leading up to Christmas, or dreading the day itself, Meic can help you through it.
Meic provides free and confidential bilingual information, advice and advocacy for children and young people up to and including the age of 25, 16 hours a day, 365 days a year, on the phone (080880 23456), text (84001), or online chat. You can access support from 8AM – Midnight.
Whatever you’re going through, a Samaritan can face it with you. The Samaritans is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
You can call Samaritans for free on 116 123. Alternatively, if you don’t like talking on the phone, you can email Samaritans and can expect a response within 24 hours. The email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org
Samaritans also have a Welsh Language Line on 0808 164 0123 (7pm–11pm every day).
Crisis Text Line is here for any crisis. A live, trained Crisis Counsellor receives the text and responds, all from our secure online platform. The volunteer Crisis Counsellor will help you move from a hot moment to a cool moment.
