Ever wondered what the future will be like in 50 years time? Young people have risen to the challenge by illustrating their vision of the future for Chapter’s 50th Birthday.
Forward thinking
Chapter wanted to mark its 50th Birthday celebrations by showcasing the talents of local young artists. They invited young people aged 5-16 from Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan, Bridgend, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr Tydfil to enter a competition. The challenge was to send themselves a postcard from an imagined future, 50 years from now.
After receiving 1,200 submissions from 17 different schools, Chapter worked with an expert panel of judges to make the difficult decision of picking the top three from each age group. Following this, an online public vote took place to select one winner who’s postcard will be displayed in Chapter’s Lightbox for 6 months! The winner will be announced on 12th November 2021.

The exhibition
