How to hang out with your mates virtually

With the pandemic still around, it getting colder, and days becoming darker faster, it seems like a good time to suggest ways that you can still hang out with your friends virtually. It doesn’t just have to be a regular Zoom call – have a blast with these 4 tried and tested ideas for a fun time with your pals.

Stream a movie together

With the free Chrome browser extension called TeleParty, you can synchronise playback of your favourite movies and TV shows across multiple devices. It also host group messaging on the side of your screen, so you can all chat about what’s going on in real time. This is compatible with Netflix and Disney Plus!

Have a virtual game night

If you’ve got a console or PC, playing multiplayer games with your friends is always a good shout. Don’t worry if not though, Tabletopia is essentially an online board game café where you can sign up with a free account to play hundreds of games with your friends. If you’ve got a bit of spare cash, Jackbox Party Packs are also a great way to play friends that aren’t too expensive. Among us is another really popular game to play with your friends that is available for free on iOs and Android.

Host a pub quiz

Whether you find your questions online or make really specific questions that only your friends should know, this is a really fun (and perhaps even educational) way to spend time with your mates virtually.

Do Karaoke

Use the Smule app to sing karaoke with your friends in real time to a huge library of old and new songs. The app is available for free on iOS and Android!
