Everyone Deserves a Life Free From Violence and Abuse

We all play a role in ending violence in our communities! You can help by joining the Ask Me Community.

The Vision

Welsh Women’s Aid wants to help end abuse by supporting communities to give a better response to survivors, but also to be proactive in finding ways to challenge unhelpful myths, attitudes and stereotypes that enable and normalise abuse.

They do this by providing free training and ongoing support that helps community members to start conversations about abuse, know where help is available, share their knowledge with others and know how to give a supportive, helpful response to anyone who shares their experience of abuse.

What is Ask Me?

Welsh Women’s Aid runs the Ask Me Community of people raising awareness around violence against women. They share information about domestic abuse and sexual violence in communities and know how to give the right response to survivors.

Ask Me training

Ask Me training is available in Cardiff & The Vale, Swansea, and Neath Port Talbot.

The next course in Cardiff & the Vale is run by Welsh Women’s Aid and will be face-to-face on 5th November 2022 from 9-5 pm at the Welsh Women’s Aid office (Pendragon House, Caxton Pl, Cardiff CF23 8XE).

They do also offer an online course, but the next session has not yet been planned.

After the course, community members are free to spend as much or as little time on activism around this.

All they ask is that participants fill in a short questionnaire once a month to let us know what they’ve been up to.
