Love to sing, perform, rap, MC or beatbox? This opportunity is for you!

What is Hard Cor?

Hard Cor (working title) is a young, modern vocal collective for anyone based in South Wales aged 16-25 living in the Cardiff area.

Anyone can get involved if they love singing, performing, rapping, MCing or beatboxing.

What genre will it be?

The group will be influenced by a range of contemporary styles, including hip-hop, grime, rap and RnB, and will celebrate Wales’s increasingly innovative music scene.

It’s an opportunity for young and talented Welsh music makers, enabling you to work with some of the country’s most impressive musical practitioners, and broadening opportunities for those who wish to sing and vocalise in non-traditional styles at the highest level.

When would we meet?

There are 8 workshop sessions (2 taster sessions, 6 workshops) taking place at Wales Millennium Centre every Saturday for two and a half hours from 11.00am-1.30pm.

On Saturday 12th November you’ll get to perform at the curtain raiser of our grime musical mash-up The Making Of A Monster: The Making of a Monster | Wales Millennium Centre.

Who’s leading the project?

There will be facilitators supporting the project, all specialising in different areas, including:

Dionne Bennett – Soul Singer (Vocals)

Tumi Williams – Rapper/Lyricist (Lyrics/MCing)

Matthew Hann – Beatboxer (beatboxing)

How do I sign up?

Taster Sessions will take place on the 17th and 24th of September. To sign up, please complete the short sign-up form.
