What is the National Youth Theatre of Wales?
National Youth Theatre of Wales (NYTW) works with partners and industry professionals to offer world-class training and performance opportunities for Wales’ most talented young people.
NYTW is proud of its illustrious roll call of previous members who have gone on to excel as performers, writers and directors, including Michael Sheen, Matthew Rhys, Ruth Jones, Rakie Ayola and Caroline Sheen, amongst others.
For over 40 years, this flagship for youth theatre in Wales has nurtured the talent and ambition of thousands of young people by delivering diverse and risk-taking performances alongside training programmes that build pathways into the creative industries.
Audition to become an ensemble member
Every year, NYTW audition across the length and breadth of Wales in the Autumn to recruit for that year’s ensemble. Those successful immediately become an NYTW ensemble members for six months.

Who can get involved?
If you’re aged 16-22, and you’re Welsh or currently living/studying in Wales, they want to hear from you.
We are dedicated to giving those between the age of 16 and 22 the platform to thrive regardless of background and circumstance and we pride ourselves on delivering a bilingual programme of activity rooted in excellence for our members.
