Finding ways to celebrate the little joys in life can really brighten up your day. However, with Cardiff still in lockdown, you may find yourself feeling bored and stuck for things to do. As it’s National Baking Week between 14 – 20 October 2020, we decided to create a list of scrumptious Autumnal treats to tickle your taste buds and keep you busy during half-term, which is fast approaching.

Here’s the Sprout’s list of top 5 tasty bakes:

1. Vegan Banana Bread

This recipe is perfect if you have got some old bananas that are browning. No need to throw them away! Use them to make a delicious banana bread instead. Good for the environment and good for your belly.

Sadly you won’t get one of your 5 a day by eating this cake, but it’s totally worth it.

Have you got a bit more time on your hands? Have a go at this modern twist of a classic apple crumble in cupcake form.

4. Golden Syrup Flapjacks

If you’ve got a craving for something sweet and you want it fast, try these flapjacks. Prep and cook time is only 30 minutes for these oaty bites of goodness.

Don’t have a sweet tooth? We’ve got you covered! Check out this easy and quick bread recipe, which you can shape into little hedgehogs, or anything else you fancy! So cute.
