Following the success of the BBC Wales Television series ‘Alfie’s Angels’, Alfie is back with a new challenge!
Teaming up with Run4Wales and international running coach James Thie, sports legend Gareth ‘Alfie’ Thomas is going to help train up to 100 novice young runners for this years’ Cardiff Half Marathon.
So if you’re aged 17-21 and fancy the challenge of a lifetime, ‘Alfie’s Army’ are looking for 20 teams of 5 people in each, to undertake the challenge of training for and running at the Cardiff Half Marathon on October 1st 2017.
To apply, you need to be aged between 17-21 on the day of the Half Marathon (Sunday October 1st 2017), and you must be a novice runner who has never taken part in any running event over 5 kilometres in length.
To get you fit and up to scratch for the half marathon, you will go through a step-by-step training programme. You will receive a weekly training plan with support. The programme is fully tried and tested, and in the past 3 years over 120 novice runners of all ages and abilities have successfully completed the Cardiff University Cardiff Half Marathon by following it.

Deadline is on midnight on Friday 12th May 2017.
