This week, there’s one particular big event that’s entirely free: the National Eisteddfod, right here in Cardiff Bay, for the first time in a decade.
If the Eisteddfod’s not quite your cup of tea, never fear because we’ve found you some alternative events as well as our Eisteddfod recommendations. [link]
NO MÔR PLASTIC
31 July – 5 Aug – National Museum Cardiff – Free
Yes, we mentioned this last week. If you’re reading this article soon after its publication, you still have time to check out the takeover. Here’s a reminder:
The Sprout is working in collaboration with the activists at the National Museum Cardiff youth forum, who are going to takeover the museum’s maritime exhibit. The model seas will be covered by a flood of plastic waste to highlight the problem of plastic pollution in our oceans. The jellyfish will be replaced with plastic bags, the sea turtle will be painfully reunited with the netting that led to its demise, and the whale’s gaping maw will suck up a whole host of refuse. To see the week long spectacle in person, head on down to the Museum. More information about the exhibit is on their website.
