As you can expect from such a prolific musical, it was put together absolutely beautifully. Having over 100 people working both on stage and behind the scenes has really helped bring the incredible story to life. From the lighting to the music, set design to costume design and choreography to acting – not a thing can be faulted.
Amy Ross, playing the lead role of Elphaba, was truly phenomenal and a real privilege to see performing live. Her voice was not only powerful and moving, but full of so much emotion. She played her character beautifully and made it so easy to become fully invested and get immersed in the story.
With Charli Baptie performing as Glinda (U/S) and Aaron Sidwell as Fiyero, both not only managed to bring perfectly timed humour to their roles, but a raw passion that resulted in some incredibly heartfelt and beautiful moments.
The rest of the cast performed with such fluid and mesmerising talent, bringing a lot of fun moments and breathtaking choreography to the evening. If it’s not already on your bucket list to see Wicked, I cannot recommend it enough. You’ll truly be blown away by the musical.
