Preview: The Oh Sees come to Tramshed

From sandy beaches to a concrete jungle, the San Fransisco band THE OH SEES are to visit the Welsh capital for the first time in 6 years.

With only one night for their 43-date 2019 tour being in Wales, this is not one to miss- it’s even more so recommended if you’re a fan of Jacuzzi Boys, Idles and Slaves. Initiating their UK part of the tour in Manchester, they’re set to arrive in Wales on the 23rd May before their last night in the UK in Derbyshire.

From their album art to their band names, Oh Sees are diverse and eccentric. Having released 20 albums since forming, the band’s musical genres range from punk and psych to folk and pop. Their latest album Smote Reverser, released in August 2018, is recommended for fans of garage rock; although the cover art makes them seem to be going a bit… metal? Easy mistake to make.

With Smote Reverser, Oh Sees stress that they don’t want to be stereotyped into one specific genre, but instead show that they are versatile and open to try anything.

“Perfect soundtrack for rolling around town in your painted van… but seriously, the variety & energy on this album is unreal. Can’t recommend enough.”

“Best album so far by miles.”
