Anya: Dealing With Self-Image, Anxiety and Low Mood

Posted on:   Posted by:

This blog is part of TheSprout’s Supporting Young Cardiffians campaign. It tells the story of 17-year-old Anya, who got support from the Family Help Team, part of Cardiff Family Advice and Support service.

Why did you contact the Cardiff Family Gateway?

Anya was referred to the Cardiff Family Gateway through her school because she “had a low mood and problems with my self-image”. She says that the process of contacting CFAS and getting help “was simple and easy to follow”.

What support did you receive?

The support that Anya received really “helped my anxiety”. She had sessions once per week.

How has the support provided by CFAS helped you and your family?

Anya says that the “support helped her learn and reassured me to have a different mindset. The best thing about the service was how there was always a new method or strategy to help.”
