Preview: Cardiff Book Festival

July 6, 2017 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Cardiff Book Festival is an annual book festival held in the capital, and this year it’s Friday 22nd September to Sunday the 24th September. 2017 marks the third year of the festival and boasted over 800 attendees and writers such as Iolo Williams and Owen Sheers.

This year there are around thirty different events across three days at the Angel Hotel in and around the Cardiff city centre. There are a huge variety of talks and readings on everything from Brexit and Wales chaired by Brian Meechan to remembering the late politician Rhodri Morgan.  It’s not just politics at Cardiff Book Festival, though. There are workshops available on novel writing, poetry readings, a book quiz, a stargazing event with Martin Griffiths and much much more. A very special highlight will be Afro-Celtic writer Neil Sinclair’s event on Sunday 24th looking at the very unique history of Tiger Bay, which is now the subject of a new musical called Tiger Bay.

Advance tickets are available for a special price of £25, but there are concessions available and some events are free. For more information, visit Cardiff Book Festival’s website.
