About the opportunity
This is a unique and valuable opportunity for anyone interested in writing and cultural exchange.
This project, entitled ‘Where I’m Writing From’, aims to create a space for young Welsh and Zimbabwean women from low-income backgrounds, as well as those with disabilities, to participate in a free, weekend writing retreat – held online in either May or June – where they will explore the idea of home, place and landscape.
The participants will receive professional creative writing instruction and mentorship to develop their work before and during these retreats. ‘Where I’m Writing From’ will culminate in a large exhibition where participants can showcase their work.
How can I apply?
Young women aged between 18-25 are able to apply for this opportunity.
Those who are interested will need to send one poem or a one-page short story, along with a 500-word letter of motivation, to whenwomenwriteproject@gmail.com by 5pm on Friday, April 8th 2022. If you have any questions, please use the above email to ask your questions.
