Are you a writer? Reading the Sprout, there’s a fair chance that you are. Which is why you’re in luck, with this incredible new contest from The Big Issue magazine.
The Big Issue Wales, of which ProMo-Cymru is a subscriber, has partnered with publisher Avon Books to look for the next Agatha Christie or Ian Rankin.

British crime fiction has always been huge- from million-selling books to pretty much 90% of the TV programmes your mam probably watches from Midsomer Murders to Life on Mars to The Bill. Now this contest, which includes a two book deal for the best writer, looks set to install your name alongside the greats.
We checked with Big Issue Editor Paul McNamee whether there were any age restrictions-and he said there are not. So if you have a gritty story set on the streets of the city- there are loads to be told – then get started writing, right now!
There is not. Come one, come all.
