Looking for a cheap and fun way to spend your summer? Check out the Summer of Fun festival.
What is Summer of Fun?
The Summer of Fun Festival is a summer-long celebration created by Child Friendly Cardiff for children and young people. It aims to support children and young people from Cardiff with our social, emotional, mental and physical wellbeing over the summer.
When is it?
The Summer of Fun will take place between 23rd July – 5th September August 2022 in Cardiff. As part of this festival, there will be activities all over Cardiff.
The Main Festival Site
As part of the festival, a festival site will be pitched on the lawn of City Hall for 2 weeks from 23rd of July to the 7th of August.
This main festival site is full of fun and exciting opportunities for children and young people of all ages, including workshops, theatre, performances, art installations, and games.
The site has two time slots for entry:
- 10:00am – 12:30pm
- 1:30pm – 4:00pm
Entry to the festival is ticketed. Tickets can be bought online in advance using Eventbrite. Tickets for adults and children are £2 each, allowing entry to a 2.5-hour-long session. Children aged two and under are free to enter, but tickets will still need to be reserved.
There will be no food & drink facilities on site, however, you can bring along your own snacks and drinks.
Although the entire festival is inclusive and neurodiverse friendly, please note that the first session of every Thursday will be quiet sessions tailored specifically to neurodiverse children, young people and their families. Please be aware of this when making your booking.
Activities across the city
Outside the main festival, activities will be held across the city until the 5th of September, including an arts and culture programme run by Arts Active.
