Safer Internet Day Film Competition

To celebrate Safer Internet Day 2023, the Welsh Government invites entries to the Safer Internet Day 2023 Film Competition

About the competition

The competition encourages children and young people in Wales to voice their views, opinions or stories about using social media, gaming or apps by creating a video.

There are two categories in the completion: Primary, for children in primary school, and Secondary, for young people aged 11-18.

The film

Films must be no longer than 2 minutes and focus on the theme ‘this is our voice’.

You may want to include the following:

Films will only be judged on their message and creativity. They will not be judged on how professionally made they are.

All films must respect copyright law. Please refer to the terms and conditions of the completion for more information about this.

Getting a mentor

Any school or youth setting based in Wales can support you in entering the competition. A teacher or youth leader will act as a mentor throughout the competition. They will also be responsible for entering films into the competition.

Submitting an entry

Films must be submitted via the Microsoft Form along with the completed media consent form. The deadline for submissions is 12pm on Friday 2nd December 2022. 

Winning Entries

The winners will be announced on Tuesday 7th February 2023, Safer Internet Day.

The winning films will feature on Hwb and will be shared via the Welsh Government and the Welsh Rugby Union’s social media.
