SAVE WOMANBY STREET Campaigners to Hold March

Save Womanby Street campaigners are to march on City Hall to demand protection for the much-loved Cardiff cultural hub, Womanby Street.

Campaigners are planning to march to Cardiff City Hall on the 29th of April in protest of the planned developments that could ruin the area’s future.

Taking to their official Facebook page, the Save Womanby Street campaigners are asking those that have ‘laughed, cried, sweated, bled or hoped’ on Womanby Street ‘step up’.

‘We ask Cardiff Council to protect our street and ensure the cultural hub of Womanby Street is defended in law so it can grow and flourish.’

The Save Womanby Street campaign was launched following the closure of live music venue Dempseys and the proposed opening of a Wetherspoon hotel on the same street.

The march on Cardiff City Hall is set to take place from 4pm to 7pm on Saturday, April 29 and will leave from Womanby Street.
