DJFMITV continues its series ‘Autism in Popular Culture’ to talk to Tim Rhys, the producer and Josh Manfield, the lead actor, from Winterlight Productions of “Quiet Hands (a sequel to “Touch Blue, Touch Yellow”, that shed light into the controversy of the Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and other supposed autism ‘treatments’)  starring lead actor Josh Manfield, reprising his role as Carl from “Touch Blue, Touch Yellow”, delves into the issues that autistics face regarding “mate crime” and looking at .  We caught up with the production team at their rehearsals at Cardiff University’s Glamorgan Building in Cathays Park, Cardiff – where we discussed their plays and the motivation behind it.

Winterlight Productions Presents “Quiet Hands” – a play written by Tim Rhys, directed by Chris Durnall; supported by Cardiff University.

A much-requested sequel to the acclaimed play “Touch Blue, Touch Yellow”, starring Josh Manfield reprising his role as Carl, an autistic adult who a year on from the events in the last play, has to wade through re-engaging with an estranged brother and dealing with the problems of ‘Mate Crime’, not to mention the earlier ABA (one of the instructions and other supposedly ‘helpful’ interventions he previously had to endure (including the very unhelpful instruction to stop stimming “Quiet Hands”)
