Project Vote

Want to learn more about politics or have a say in the 2021 Senedd election, but you’re too young? Get involved with Project Vote!

What is Project Vote?

The Children’s Commissioner for Wales has launched a Wales wide parallel election called Project Vote for 11-15 year olds to coincide with the 2021 Senedd Election.

Why should I get involved?

Being involved in Project Vote will give young people the opportunity to engage in political and social issues.

Young people will learn about how voting works, who their local political candidates are, and make a decision on who they would like to vote for.

By casting your vote, you’ll be able to see how important having your voice is.

How can I get involved?

If you are a young person, check to see if your school or youth group is taking part in Project Vote. If not, get in touch with Project Vote to see how you can take part.

If you are an adult, register to take part on Project Vote here. You can access a range of free, online resources here to help teach young people what they need to know.

When will Project Vote take place?

Voting will take place online and will be held over a fortnight at the end of April.

Results will be published after polls for the real Senedd election and Project Vote close on May 6.
