Know An Inspirational Woman? Nominate Them For A Womenspire Award!

Chwarae Teg, Wales’ leading gender equality charity, is once again celebrating the achievements of women from all backgrounds and stages in life or work across Wales with the Womenspire Awards 2017.

Chwarae Teg’s Womenspire Awards showcases the remarkable accomplishments of women across Wales and will inspire future generations.

Last year over 300 guests attended Womenspire 2016, which recognised and supported women living and working in Wales. This year’s event will be held on Wednesday 21 June at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff and the deadline for nominations is 20 April.

Nominations are being sought by and on behalf of women at all stages, and across all walks of life, who are proud of what they are achieving – whether it’s in their private or professional lives or in the wider community.

The Womenspire Award Categories cover all industries from sports, arts, education, science, community and business. People can nominate women for:

Champion of the Year
Leader of the Year
Game Changer of the Year
Woman in the Creative Sector
Rising Star
Community Activist of the Year
Woman in the Rural Economy
Woman in Business / Enterprise
STEM/ Pioneer
Woman in Education
Learner of the Year

In addition to celebrating the incredible achievements of these amazing women, Womenspire will also be celebrating Man of the Year and Employer of the Year, which recognises the contribution that men and employers make to achieving a more gender balanced society in Wales.

A flagship award, Champion of the year, will be presented to one of the category winners at the end of the ceremony. This award will be voted for by all of the attendees at the ceremony.
Entries are also open to organisations and employers in the public, private and third sector who are committed to gender equality and providing the support and development required for their female colleagues to achieve and prosper.

Cerys Furlong Chief Executive of Chwarae Teg said: “Womenspire recognises women for every aspect of life, from personal achievements to outstanding contribution, and we want as many people to be a part of these celebrations.”

It’s completely free to nominate and the deadline is Thursday 20 April.
