Electric Wave Festival is kicking off this weekend!

Electric Wave is a family friendly surf and music festival that will be held in the Conwy Valley on 14th – 16th of July.

Why I think it is worth trying this extravaganza? Let’s say that the location speaks for itself: fresh air, green valleys, beautiful mountains…and surfing.

“Surfing in Snowdonia?” You may ask. Yes, it’s not only possible but it’s one of the main festival attractions as it’s held by Surf Snowdonia Adventure Park: a world-first inland 300 metres long surf lagoon and outdoor adventure destination. Fancy riding a perfect head-high wave? Want to have fun with a catapult blob in a lee of a mountain? Then it looks like this adventure is for you.

“Well, I am not crazy about water activities…” You may say. However, I wouldn’t cross it out. Electric Waves promises comedy, DJ workshops and different family-friendly activities like slacklining, a skate ramp, climbing wall, mountain biking and balance bikes, Electric Waves Fairground as well as surf side street food and BBQ. Looks like there could be a lot to do in only three days!

And then there is music. The line-up sounds interesting and to very different tastes: Bez from the Happy Mondays, 25 Years of Cream, General Levy and the UK Chilli Peppers, Sunset Sons as well as some local talent like Calfari and KKlass and many more.

Tickets are reasonably priced, for an adult a weekend ticket is £86.05, for a young adult it’s £55.25. There are one day entry tickets available too. Festival offers weekend camper van parking and off-site camping. However, looks like these tickets are sold out.

Tickets can be purchased via Skiddle here.
