Calling all volunteer enthusiasts and budding film makers! #INUNITYFILMFEST

Hi guys, my name is Hallie and I’m one of the volunteer creators of InUnity.

Over the past few months, a group of volunteers (who started off as strangers!) joined forces to create everything about the festival – from the logo to criteria for judging the films, to the award ceremony itself. Absolutely everything had to be started from scratch so it was beyond exciting to be part of the first-ever InUnity film festival which will hopefully only grow to be bigger and better year on year.

So what is InUnity Short Film Festival?
InUnity is a brand new volunteer youth-led film festival promoting volunteering in Wales. The film fest is funded by the Welsh Government and is also supported by ProMo-Cymru in partnership with WCVA and the #iwill campaign. The theme of the festival is ‘Making a bigger difference together’.

How can you participate in the festival?
Videos between the length of 2-8 minutes can be submitted by any young person between the ages of 11-25. InUnity is an online short film festival so videos can be submitted online at https://inunity.cymru/

How are the videos judged?
Videos made by a small group (1-4 people) will be voted for by the public online when votes open. Videos made by a large group (5+ people) will be voted for by a judges panel. The judging criteria to bear in mind is that videos could be fun and creative, empowering, inspiring others and showing a community impact.

Why should you submit an entry?
As well as this being an amazing opportunity to show how you make a big difference to the lives of others, there are some amazing prizes to be won too. The top 5 videos will be showcased in front of the audience at the InUnity Film Festival Awards Ceremony! If that isn’t enough, there are also cash prizes too – £75 for the winner of the small groups category and £125 for the winner of the large groups category.

So what next?
