Best Way To End Independent Venue Week? Nominate Your Favourite Local Venue, Artist, DJ & More For A Cardiff Music Award!

With Independent Venue Week happening around Cardiff week, there is certainly no shortage of musical talent in and around the Welsh Capital. From an array of artists, bands, DJs, promoters and venues – the Cardiff music scene is thriving.

However, which local venue hosts unforgettable club nights? Who is Cardiff’s greatest DJ? Do you know a musician that deserves special recognition?

Set for March 30th 2017, Cardiff Music Awards aims to celebrate the city’s musical dynamism by rewarding the achievements and success of organisations, individuals and all those that have helped to enhance Cardiff’s unique and vibrant music scene.

Independent judges from the local Cardiff area will help decide who wins each award. The scoring system for the nomination will combine both the judges’ criteria and votes from the general public. There will be up to 26 different awards up for grabs.

Founder of the Cardiff Music Awards, Ed Townend, officially launched the awards in 2015 to ‘recognise the talent in the scene’. Various issues meant that the 2016 awards ceremony could not take place but Ed is confident that the enthusiasm and momentum behind the Cardiff Music Awards in its 2017 re-launceh will ensure its success.

Voting for the Cardiff Music Awards are now open. Nominations close on February 10th 2017. All the winners and runners up will be invited to the awards ceremony in March 2017.
