Do You Want to be The Face of SkillsCymru?

If you are interested in making a career in media & journalism for yourself then the perfect opportunity for you may have just come up!

Great experience and Transferable Skills

Michelle Venton on Sky Sports

SkillsCymru are now looking for young people to apply to be the face of their coverage on an upcoming event.

SkillsCymru is the largest annual series of careers, skills, jobs and apprenticeship events and will come to Cardiff and Llandudno in October 2017.

The organisers of the event are searching for a young person interested in getting into a presenting career to cover their event. They will be followed by a camera crew around the event while they talk to the exhibitors and visitors.

In 2010, a student at Swansea University, Michelle Venton, became the first “Face of SkillsCymru”. After this she moved on from SkillsCymru and used this experience to become a successful TV and Radio presenter for Sky Sports and Capital FM.

Not only would this opportunity give you great experience in the field but also transferable skills such as confidence in front of the camera and personal skills.

Who can apply?

So if you’re aged 16-25 and in school, college, university or on an apprenticeship, you should definitely apply.

How?

To apply record a 60 second clip explaining why you should be the face of SkillsCymru and upload it here.

Applicants must also send their details to emily.worthington@prospects.co.uk.

The deadline to enter is Friday 4th August and the winner will be notified by the end of August.
