For the past week I have been on work experience at theSprout and it’s been great! Since I’ve started, I’ve learnt some new skills and my writing has definitely improved. Not only that, its also given me a good insight into what goes on behind the scenes of a website. For example, I didn’t even know what Search Engine Optimisation was at the start of the week or how to properly edit an article but now, thanks to my work experience at theSprout, I do.
I would recommend anyone who wants a career in media and journalism to come to theSprout. You will get some valuable experience and you couldn’t have a better place to learn it. It’s a great environment to work in and you’ll never be bored while you’re here. I started off the week having one article up on theSprout but by the end of the week, including this one, I have nine. I
t was definitely better than expected. I thought I would be sitting a desk, bored out of my skull but instead I’m sitting at a desk, actually doing something. I’d like to say thanks to Sam Easterbrook as well as Sammy Jenkins who have kept me busy throughout the week and showed me the ropes. It’s been great fun and a good experience.
