An amazing opportunity has appeared for 18-year-olds not currently in education, employment or training to become runners, assistants and trainees for a week on the set of hit S4C/ BBC series Keeping Faith (aka Un Bore Mercher).

Here’s Creative Cardiff’s description.

Following our award-winning Foot in the Door training scheme pilot, Ffilm Cymru are now offering three exciting new opportunities to learn valuable skills on the set of a major TV production.

The second series of hit S4C / BBC Cymru Wales drama Un Bore Mercher / Keeping Faith is shooting until the end of February 2019, and Ffilm Cymru are working in partnership with S4C and Vox Pictures, as well as local housing associations, to offer free training and a week on-set.

Foot in the Door offers people over the age of 18 that are not otherwise engaged in employment, education or training the opportunity to spend a week learning valuable new transferable skills that can launch a career in the creative industries and beyond. Trainees will receive guidance, advice and mentorship from industry experts, and eligible applicants may also receive support for travel and childcare.

Available roles are:

– Production Department (Trainee Runner)

– Trainee Art Department Assistant

– Locations Department Trainee

You may have existing transferable skills in these areas already such as carpentry, an art qualification or in an administrative or co-ordinator role for example.

The ability to speak Welsh is essential for these opportunities. We welcome and encourage applications from those who can communicate fluently in Welsh as well as those who are learning and keen to work through the medium of Welsh.

Filming will take place across central South Wales, (exact locations to be confirmed but travel support will be offered).

The deadline for applications is 12 Midday on Thursday 10 January 2019. Find out more and apply here.

Successful shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a recruitment day in South Wales on 16 January (Venue TBC)

Training will take place 29 – 31 January, with on-set placements commencing on 4 – 8 February.

For any queries relating to your application, please email Angharad Williams on angharad@ffilmcymruwales.com.

With such a tight deadline, applications had better be quick. Best of luck from The Sprout!
