I’ll Tell You What I Want, What I Really, Really Want… Things to do in Cardiff this week.

This week sees the arrival of the Urdd, so watch out for some more news from that from us in the comiong days. If you’re heading along send in your Urdd tips and tricks for what is a must see to us on Twitter, Insta, Facebook or email.

That’s right, the world-famous Spice Girls are back in Cardiff this bank holiday Monday, kicking off the reunion tour at the Principality Stadium. If you’re not one of the lucky ones to get a ticket, make sure you read the link anyway to find out about transport issues on the day. Loads of roads will be closed and trains will be really busy.

THURSDAY 23 MAY

Get in to Cardboard and Consoles for just £6 at the Arcade Vaults from 5-9pm today, try playing video games and board games alike and have a whole bucket of fun. Check it out on FB.

FRIDAY 24 MAY

The #YouthStrike4Climate movement continues with another protest outside the Senedd demanding the Welsh Government take action to abate the incoming climate emergency. 10am at Cardiff City Hall. FB event.

Want to be a game dev? How about you commit yourself to that dream for the whole bank holiday weekend, come on you absolute madman. Head down to the Arcade Vaults at 4pm to take on the challenge. FB event. More info and tickets.

SATURDAY 25 MAY

At 11am, there’s a free workshop at the Global Gardens project if you want to learn about permaculture, a very special form of gardening. Facebook event here, get tickets on Eventbrite.

In the evening at 6pm, test your Terry Pratchett knowledge with this Pratchett themed quiz. It’s at the Owain Glyndwr and it’s £4 entry. FB.

SUNDAY 26 MAY

Pedal Power and RSPB are having a spot of birdwatching this Sunday so head on down between 10am-4pm. Their cafe is located in the West of Bute Park. Have a chat with the friendly staff and try some of their cake too, but the birdwatching is all free.

After that get on your bike and head up the Taff Trail to Castell Coch, where Urban Sketchers South Wales will be getting their art materials out from midday. Bring a pen and pad and get sketching. Facebook.

TUESDAY 28 MAY

Cardiff art-heads Gentle/Radical are hosting an Intergenerational Film Club, so come along and bring your nan. It’s 11am at Riverside Warehouse, and £2 to get in for most people, with some discounts for certain groups.
