Cardiff’s best spots to eat

Nothing makes a good day out even better than some top quality food. Here are some of the best places to get a good bite to eat in Cardiff.

New York Deli

If you’re looking for a variety of food for a good price then you can’t beat New York Deli. They do fantastic Bagels, sandwiches and hoagies, if you wanted any combination of meat, veg and sauce between two slices of bread there’s a good chance it’s on the menu at New York Deli. Most of their menu items cost around the £6 mark but for the portion you get it is well worth it.

Vegetarian Food Studio

Science Cream in the Castle Arcade

This is one for the vegetarians and vegans. Although to be honest this food is too good for anyone to miss. Offering traditional Indian cuisine for a reasonable price Vegetarian Food Studio is definitely worth a visit.

Buffalo Bar Cardiff

On the higher end of the price spectrum is Buffalo Bar. Right next to the St. David’s Shopping Centre. Buffalo have a variety of menu items from burgers to salads. The food is priced from around £6-£10 but your paying for good food and it being right in the middle of town is even better.

Milgi on City road

Another good one for the vegans and vegetarians, Milgi serves some tasty food made from good ingredients and while the mains cost £11.95 each you’re getting some really fresh, tasty food. Another bonus is that a lot of their food is also gluten free.

Food at Chai Street

Science Cream

If you want an ice cream made from liquid nitrogen then Science Cream is the place for you. They’ve got loads of flavours ranging from brown butter caramel to bacon and egg. They also do great hot chocolates. You can find Science Cream in the Castle Arcade

Chai Street

The famous Cowbridge Road East is home to loads of curry houses but among one of the best has to be Chai Street. If you’re looking for truly authentic Indian cuisine then look no further. Their top notch thalis will set you back £10.00.

Pizza at Dusty Knuckle

Dusty Knuckle

This pop-up pizza place make great made to order pizzas at a reasonable price. They’ve been listed as one of the best pizzerias in the world by Phaidon as well on the top 10 list in The Guardian so they must be doing something right. It can be found on Llandaff road in Riverside. See their website for more details.

 Dough Thrower

Another great little pizzeria, The Dough Thrower can be found just by Victoria Park and supplies great, freshly made pizzas for a reasonable price. A pizza will set you back £11.50 and is well worth the price for the taste. They also do great tiramisu. See their Facebook page here for more info.
