Armed with guitars, fiddles, pianos and an accordion.
Essex born, rough-voiced, open-hearted troubadour, Jay McAllister (otherwise known as Beans on Toast) and the whiskey drinking, chest pounding 5 piece band that is Skinny Lister have already begun tearing through the UK as part of their Double Trouble Tour.
Although both Beans and Skinny Lister have shared the stage together many of times (alongside other friends such as Will Varley and the legendary Frank Turner) this will mark the first occasion where the two artists have collided officially with them both performing full-length sets.
While normally a one-man show Beans will be performing alongside a full band as he promotes his 9th record; “Cushty.”
An album that whilst joining the vast numbers of records this year that have described their anger at the current social and political climate of the UK, its focus on the people and places that truly make Britain great and its creative ways of mocking those who misrepresent that idea help set this apart from the crowd.
Meanwhile Skinny Lister, having come to the end of their worldwide tour of their critically acclaimed third record; “The Devil, The Heart & The Fight” (which has recently been re-released as a Deluxe Edition) they have decided to end what has already been a lucrative year in the only way they know how; by playing incredible music, as loudly as possible to a welcoming crowd.
In less than a week these two great artists will be heading to Cardiff’s The Globe venue.
