There’s never been a better time to make your own halloween costume. Thanks to the internet, you can find boards on Pinterest, incredibly artistic makeup tutorials on YouTube and inspiration on Instagram.
You can make costumes with bin liners, bed sheets and monochromatic clothes such as a black dress. Other items you can use are toilet rolls, boxes, googly eyes, cardboard, pipe cleaners, clingfilm and more.
Making a costume can be effortless.
Here are some of my favourite DIY costume ideas I have found across the internet:
These batwings are made from an umbrella.
Mermaid scale makeup created using fishnet tights.
Make your own spiderweb cape.
Medusa headband made using gold spray paint, snake toys and a headband.
Banksy art made using black clothes, white pain and a bouquet of flowers.
A more fashionable take on using bin liners for witches costumes, usually used for capes, why not use it for a skirt instead?
Find that great bikini you wore at the pool last summer, combine it with a bed sheet and you will be the sexiest ghost out there.
Another umbrella used to make a very cool Jellyfish
A flannel shirt and a straw hat can help make a scarecrow.
Write some psych terminology on strips of paper, stick them to your LBD and grab your cigar to make a great Freudian Slip costume.
Stick some cereal boxes to yourself and get any fake weapon to make a great pun.
Go fight some aliens with a suit and shades.
A plaid dress, an apron and some fake blood make a killer housewife costume.
